#VicksFlicks Terse Twitter Reviews

Time flies, and truthfully, I simply see too many damn movies in order to write a full, comprehensive review for each one. I’m a working man over here!

Hold on. Stay right there. Never fear because just in case you’ve missed them or you’re not following me on Twitter (shame on yourself), for every movie I see there’s a brief review I tweet out to my millions of followers with my overall opinion of it without going too in-depth. It’s simple and to the point. Absolutely perfect for people who hate reading!

There’s even a nifty rating system included. You’re so welcome. So let’s kick off the first episode in this brand new, rip-roaring series with most of the films I saw this month.

LONDON HAS FALLEN

2 out of 5 stars

A Gerard Butler macho actioner that’s relentless, but contains absolutely no surprises or logic. Though its biggest mistake is wasting such a terrific cast.

Cloverfield

10 CLOVERFIELD LANE

4 out of 5 stars

Supported with an impressive trio of talent, this rare, remarkable thriller hides behind mystery & delivers the unexpected. Clever while jacked up on intensity, it rejuvenates the genre by being captivating, disquieting, & catching you completely off guard.

BrothersGrimsby

THE BROTHERS GRIMSBY

1.5 out of 5 stars

Cohen’s edginess is weakened in a movie that not only strips him of comicality, but simply comes across as desperation. He’s funnier & easily more sharp-witted than this.

THE WAVE

3.5 out of 5 stars

A story with a humanistic approach & a director having a tonic point of view turns this into an intelligent, immersive foreign disaster film with actual character depth & soul.

thebronze

THE BRONZE

1.5 out of 5 stars

Vulgarness doesn’t always equal hilarity, especially when the movie doesn’t have an ounce of personality or fighting spirit.

theprogram

THE PROGRAM

2.5 out of 5 stars

Ben Foster is impressive as Armstrong, but the movie takes an in-depth look at cockiness, corruption & cheating, instead of the man who had no trouble being all of the above.

doris

HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS

4 out of 5 stars

The incomparable Sally Field delivers a lusty performance about a woman who’s never too old to find her true self. Eccentric yet beautiful, this story & its leading lady are lovingly infectious.

BVS

BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

3 out of 5 stars

It’s epicness comes up short w/ an overly elongated movie that becomes pure CGI chaos. But there’s enough puissant moments, mainly coming from everyone except Superman, to keep us enthusiastic, if not a little apprehensive, about the future.
