NFL Conference Championship Drinking Games

Some of you may still be recovering from our college football National Championship Drinking Game. My apologies, but the show must go on. A lot of people love the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, but I’m more of a “Conference Championships” kind of guy. I like to see trophies raised at the end of games – sue me. But, it is exciting for several reasons. Namely, after a year’s worth of football, we find out who’s going to play in the Super Bowl. We get to see CHAMPIONSHIP football. It’s (usually) the best of the best. And, it’s about an eight-hour WALL of football. The last chance we all have to watch multiple football games on the same day for about seven months or so.

So, enjoy it – crack open some brews, and unwind with the undisputed king of drinking games (us….maybe…I don’t know, I’m just trying to sell you).

NFC Championship

Take a drink if/when….

*Someone mentions that Aaron Rodgers believed this Packers team could run the table.

*Someone mentions this is the last game in the Georgia Dome. Take another drink if we get an emotional montage about all of the great moments in Georgia Dome history.

*Julio Jones’ 300-yard game is mentioned.

*They show the borderline Goldberg spear Jordy Nelson’s hip took against the Giants.

*Aaron Rodgers’ comments about fake noise in the Georgia Dome are discussed.

*Someone entertains the idea that “Matt Ryan can’t win in the postseason.”

*Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman both score touchdowns during the game.

*Matt Ryan is mentioned as “MVP candidate.”

*Aaron Rodgers is mentioned as “MVP candidate.”

*Green Bay holds Matt Ryan to under 300 passing yards.

Take a shot if/when…

*Someone likens “we can run the table” to “R-E-L-A-X”

*Someone tries to compare Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre.

*You hear “Welcome to Atlanta” at any point in the broadcast.

*Aaron Rodgers throws a successful Hail Mary.

*These teams pass 100 total points.

AFC Championship

Take a drink if/when…

*Antonio Brown’s Facebook Live stunt is mentioned.

*Brady’s record of Super Bowl appearances is mentioned.

*Le’Veon Bell hesitates at the line of scrimmage. Just kidding – don’t want anyone to die. How about every time he stutter steps and gets tackled, take a drink? Let’s go with that.

*Someone mentions “The Patriot Way” or “do your job.”

*The fire alarm being pulled at the Steelers hotel is mentioned. Take another drink if the Steelers lose and this becomes another #____gate issue. #FireAlarmGate, for example.

*Someone mentions that Bill Belichick likes to “take away an opponent’s greatest strength”

*Artie Burns gets called for pass interference.

*Tom Brady awkwardly rushes for a first down.

*James Harrison being a general freak of nature is shown – I’ll let you bring subjectivity to this rule. If he does something that makes you say, “hot damn – that is a GROWN. ASS. MAN,” that probably means he’s been a freak of nature, and you should take a drink.

*Julian Edelman notches 10 catches.

Take a shot if/when…

*The Patriots hold Antonio Brown under 100 yards.

*The Steelers intercept Tom Brady three times.

*Bill Belichick actually smiles.

*Mike Tomlin calls out Terry Bradshaw for being an out-of-touch old man.

*If, for some reason, Travis Kelce’s post-game rant from last week is shown.

That’s all folks – enjoy! Check out my game picks here.
