Manu Ginobili, at Approximately 58 Years Old, Is Still Dominating

Wow – just amazing. How do these San Antonio Spurs keep going? I’m not going to be surprised if Gregg Popovich calls up David Robinson and Sean Elliott the longer this postseason run goes. Sure, James Harden is lighting it up this season, but you’d be hard-pressed to bet against this Spurs team in this series. Especially if Manu Ginobili keeps making plays like that. I don’t know how they do it – how he’s squeezed such longevity out of his career, or more importantly, whether he did or did not sell his soul to the devil to play basketball forever.

Just look at this close up:

You can almost hear his bones creaking as he extends his entire body to block this ball. But, he did it. Bravo. That’s a big block in a clutch moment on one of the best scorers in the NBA – and you’re what? 58 years old? There’s no way I could do that right now, and I’m half Ginobili’s presumed age…

By the way, can we take a moment to talk about how much the NBA playoffs suck total ass?!? I mean, y’all give me shit for watching the NHL playoffs every night because “hockey is boring.”

Cleveland is steamrolling teams. Golden State is steamrolling teams. Poppa Bear and I laughed at the notion of watching the NBA playoffs this year on an episode of SoBros Sports Night. We specifically said, “can we just go ahead and have the Cavs-Warriors series?” And, yeah – that’s what it’s looked like so far.

I mean, the only drama has been the story of the Boston Celtics being the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference, yet somehow struggling to put away the Chicago Bulls and playing an even series with the Washington Wizards…Wizards? Are they still the Wizards? Or, did they go back to being the Bullets? Hard to tell with those uniforms.

Anyway, I’d love to have some real NBA coverage on the site, so if you can convince me to watch anything other than -maybe- a couple of Cavs-Warriors games, you’ll get the job. Dead serious.

Otherwise, I’ve got two NHL Game 7s to watch tonight – you know, sports games that are actually exciting.
