Josh Brolin Is Cable In The Flesh

I remember having this action figure many, many years ago. I didn’t realize how much of a badass Cable really was back then. I’m not a comic book fan, but I do love what Marvel has been doing at the movies. So, at the end of Deadpool, when the secret is let out that he will finally be brought to the big screen, everyone agreed it’s the perfect place for a man of his stature.

Also, it’s about damn time!

Instantly, casting rumors swirled, ranging from names such as Brad Pitt, Stephen Lang to Pierce Brosnan, Russell Crowe and Richard Gere. I just made up that last one. The guy that caught my attention the most was Michael Shannon. I could easily see him playing the half-cyborg brute, he would just have to beef up a little. Muscles or not, the man is still terrifying. Then, it’s revealed the role has been given to Thanos himself, Josh Brolin, out of nowhere. A real shocker!

How in the hell can Brolin be Thanos AND Cable?!?! Oh, because he’s an actor.

And now we get to see Brolin in action with this first look photo.

SIKE!

Wow.

Director David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) and the rest of the Deadpool 2 team fucking nail it. Any doubts that anyone may have had just got put to rest. Brolin has been perfectly cast as Cable and man does he look the part, carrying the legendary robotic limb as well as the pain and battle scars the time-jumper has suffered.

Like most people, I am a fan of Deadpool, the debauchery infested, wildly entertaining “superhero” movie that it is. And it’s awesome how it’s in on the joke by being purely hilarious while remaining relentlessly profane & serving up unmerciful bloodshed. But after these photos, I am even more stoked about what Deadpool 2 is capable of and what mayhem Cable can bring. By the looks of it, he’s going to bring a lot.

Josh Brolin is going to have one hell of a summer next year.
