Tank the 401k: "Dig Deep" Edition

Well, last week may have been the nail in the coffin. Just a shitty week from start to finish. I sat down to write the column and just wasn’t feeling any of the picks, but I forced myself to call ’em. That’s the only way I thought I’d dig myself out of a hole, and I ended up digging myself deeper. Imagine that happening in the world of sports gambling!

Never heard of such – I always thought the only way to get out of a losing streak was to bet MORE later. I’m really glad I don’t actually back my picks up with money, but I do apologize to those of you who have lost money by my hand this season.

Next round’s on me.

Honestly, I don’t know why I’m bothering anymore, but hey – maybe I can turn this season around and end up with another Music City Miracle…

Big Natural’s Picks

NCAAF: Old Dominion -4 vs. Eastern Michigan – This game means a lot for the Monarchs. I’ve been on ’em since this game was announced, so why back out now?

NFL: New York Giants -2.5 vs. Philadelphia – The Eagles are sliding, but they gave a lot against Baltimore. New York is still miraculously in the hunt for the NFC’s #1 overall seed. I look for a big day out of the Giants receivers, and an underrated defense confusing an Eagles offense that appears void of legitimate game-breaking weapons.

NCAAF: Navy +6 Louisiana Tech – I’ve probably missed some sort of big news about this game, but excuse me – why the hell isn’t Navy favored? This should be a comfortable win for the Midshipmen.

NFL: Washington-Chicago, OVER 45.5 – Chicago is scrappy and Washington seems to be heading in the wrong direction, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see either team win this game. One thing I’m sure of: there’s going to be some points scored. Take the over.

NCAAF: Mississippi State -14 vs. Miami (OH) – Anything can happen in the St. Petersburg Bowl, right? I don’t know – the Bulldogs seem like a vastly superior opponent for Ben Roethlisberger’s alma mater. I think they can name their score here.

NFL: San Diego -6 vs. Cleveland – I’m officially done with the Browns. They get their assholes wallered out every damn week. I’m not going to predict them to cover a spread ever EVER EVER again. That’s probably a lie, but I like the Chargers here.

NFL: Cinncinnati +1.5 vs. Houston – I really don’t like Houston in this spot. Does Tom Savage light a fire under the Texans collective ass? I don’t know – the Bengals are deceptively good and I don’t want to put too much into that loss to the Steelers.

NFL: Denver-Kansas City, UNDER 37.5 – Have you watched football the past two weeks?!?! Now that I’ve said that, this game will end up 42-40, watch. But, this should be a prime defensive battle. I’m thinking more of a 15-14 type of game.

NCAAF: Vanderbilt +4 vs. NC State – Man, the Commodores finished the season HOT – whooping Ole Miss’s ass out of bowl contention, and taking down in-state rival Tennesee. I’m all in on a Vanderbilt team that will want to win this game, one no one thought they’d even be in.

Last Week: 4-8-2
On the Season: 59-71-7 (45.4%)
