April is a big month in the NFL. We’ve got the draft next week, where teams will replenish their roster with college football’s finest prospects.

The Titans will go into 2017 with high expectations. Many pundits are already claiming the Titans will be the surprise team of 2017. At the very least, people expect them to at least win the AFC South.

They finished 9-7 in the division last year, losing out to the Houston Texans on a tiebreaker. They were one of the best rushing offenses and defenses in the league last season, with the arrow definitely trending upward. How will this promising young squad perform with such high expectations next season?

LET’S GOOOOOOO!

Week 1 – vs. Oakland Raiders
Week 2 – @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 3 – vs. Seattle Seahawks
Week 4 – @ Houston Texans
Week 5 – @ Miami Dolphins
Week 6 – vs. Indianapolis Colts
Week 7 – @ Cleveland Browns
Week 8 – BYE
Week 9 – vs. Baltimore Ravens
Week 10 – vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Week 11 – @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 12 – @ Indianapolis Colts
Week 13 – vs. Houston Texans
Week 14 – @ Arizona Cardinals
Week 15 – @ San Francisco 49ers
Week 16 – vs. Los Angeles Rams
Week 17 – vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

There it is.

That’s one hell of a way to open the season. Is it September yet? A showdown in Nashville pitting two of the hottest young quarterbacks in the game against one another. Derek Carr’s Raiders vs. Marcus Mariota’s Titans. As the kids would say, it’s LIT.

Obviously, winning divisional games is going to be crucial to the development of this team. This year, they’re spread out across the season. They get Houston and Indianapolis back-to-back late in the season, but other than that, there’s some space in between each divisional showdown.

It seems odd for the team to face NFC West teams for three straight weeks so late in the season. But, at least known of those teams are the Seattle Seahawks.

Bye week comes in the middle of the season just like every NFL team wants. Things shaped up pretty nicely for the Titans.

Also, TWO… count ’em TWO prime time games this season! The Week 6 showdown with the Colts in Nashville will be on Monday Night Football. And, the game in Pittsburgh in Week 11 will be on Thursday Night Football.

Overall, this is a manageable schedule. If they can start strong, this should be a good season for the Titans. No one on this schedule looks like a guaranteed loss.
