Well, if you aren’t ready to run through a damn brick wall after that, then you aren’t human. I immediately just became an Auston Matthews fan. Before this, I was like, “yeah, that dude is good – definitely Rookie of the Year material.” Turns out, yeah – he is the Rookie of the Year. He has the Calder Trophy to prove it.
But, man oh man – my boy RHog passed this along to me today and I can officially say that I’m all in. Goosebumps city. Just watching snipe after snipe after snipe to the tunes of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s entrance music had me ready to smash beers and buy my Matthews shirsey.
It’s been a weird 24 hours for Nashville Predators fans, and really hockey in general. Even some of the experts were baffled by all the rules of last night’s NHL Expansion Draft. But, alas, the draft happened the Vegas Golden Knights took James Neal right from arms of Smashville.
But, at the same time, David Poile was named General Manager of the Year, an award he probably earned years ago. So, we’re happy for that. Sad for Neal. Confused about expansion draft rules, and anxious for October. Time for another crack at The Cup.
