How to De-install a Ceiling Fan: Just Rip It Out the Damn Ceiling

The Internet is full of how-to videos to help every day people like me figure out how to do stuff. I can personally attest to the fact that I would not have been able to do half the handy things I’ve done without YouTube. But, I certainly would have no idea how to install or de-install a ceiling fan. Luckily for me, there’s a guy out there leading the charge with the perfect example:

Mistakes were made

Whew – glad he was moving. Just, as a reminder, we’ll never post something where somebody actually dies. That’s just wrong. So, I’m happy to see that this guy’s moving and, outside of being really sore for a few days, looks like he’s aight. Happy that I’m able to write about this one.

As for the actual technique – weeeeeellllll, I don’t know that this is the safest method of taking down a ceiling fan. Something tells me he hasn’t exactly done this before. Maybe it wasn’t installed properly to begin with. Maybe he’s also the one who installed it. Lot of questions.

One thing is for certain, though. That ladder is not ‘ride or die.’ That ladder gave out like a ladder in a WWE TLC match. And, I can’t blame it – it looks like it was originally crafted in the 1940s. Amazed it’s held up this long!

Finally, gotta love the guy filming holding back his laughter until he knew the man was alright. And, the guy just looks up like, “oh shit – he’s filming.” At that moment, you just know….you just know you’re going to end up on SoBros Network.
