Super Bowl 52 X-Factors

We are t-minus two days until the kick off for the big game, and your boys at SoBros Network are starting to tingle with anticipation. You know what I mean. Anyway, yeah – Super Bowl 52 x-factors…

One of my favorite parts of the game is identifying who that breakout star is going to be. Think Malcolm Smith after the Seattle Seahawks won in Super Bowl XLVIII. You should be thinking James White in Super Bowl LI, too – but he was robbed of MVP honors in favor of ol’ Tom Terrific.

We all know Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and the like are going to be impact players, but I’ve put together a few names who I think could rise up and steal the spotlight on Sunday.

New England Patriots

Danny Amendola – The Eagles defense is going to have its hands full with Rob Gronkowski. He has to be priority number one. So, naturally, that opens the door for someone else. Amendola could fill that Julian Edelman role and dink and dunk all over the Eagles. Death by a thousand paper cuts.

James White – Big Game James is liable to show up at any moment. I mean, look at the monstrous game he had in Super Bowl LI: 139 total yards and three total touchdowns. The guy touched the ball 20 times. But, what makes me think he could be due for an encore is the matchup. There’s no way the Patriots are going to try running the ball right into the teeth of that Eagles run defense. Like last year, when White had 14 catches, I expect the Pats to get him out on the edge catching passes. Could be deadly.

Philadelphia Eagles

Nelson Agholor – I feel like I’ve been calling Agholor an x-factor all postseason and he really hasn’t done shit. But, I swear, guys. I mean it this time. He’ll probably draw the stockier Eric Rowe in the slot, and if that’s the case, he should be able to shake him like it’s nothing. This Pats defense does give up yardage, so I would not be surprised to see Agholor start piling up numbers and break a big play.

Brandon Graham – If the Eagles are going to win this game, it’s going to be at least in part because they’ve gotten to Tom Brady. Graham has been a destructive force all season, and I expect he could make a huge difference in Sunday’s game.
