One of the most underrated components of the WWE’s biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania, is a good theme song. Of course it is! It sets the entire tone for a Wrestlemania season full of marketing and branding. If you get it wrong, it just throws off the whole thing.
Take this year for instance – these NOLA promos are hokey and tired. Part of it is WWE recycling basically the same vision from Wrestlemania XXX. But, part of it is that God awful Kid Rock song. I don’t care why you’re going down to New Orleans…that song does not scream “Wrestlemania” to me. But, to each his own. If you like it, good for you. I’m happy you’re happy. “Celebrate” isn’t as bad, but they don’t use it for any of the vignettes. Just the match promos. Anyway…
Every now and then, WWE absolutely nails it. Today, I’m counting down my 10 favorite Wrestlemania theme songs in playlist form so you can get HYPED for ‘Mania with me.
