The Fireworks Over Los Angeles Made for One Crazy Scene

Big night for fireworks last night. In case you didn’t know, it was the 4th of July, and people love shooting their fireworks on the 4th of July. Be it legal or not, people come out of the woodwork launching these things. I thought it was bad out in Gladeville, TN. But, then, I saw the fireworks over Los Angeles last night.

What a surreal scene. I’d say it looks like a war zone, but I don’t think modern missiles explode into beautiful colors. People aren’t oo-ing and ah-ing during drone strikes. But, I really don’t know what else to compare it to, you know?

It’s just crazy, and there is absolutely no chance that you can police this sort of thing, unless you’re watching this video and coordinating with a map to figure out who’s shooting what where. That sounds like a mess, and from what I understand about LA, they have bigger fish to fry.

But, don’t get me wrong – I may sound like an old man shaking my fist at the sky, but I do enjoy fireworks. I just don’t know when it became such a big deal – so big of a deal that it looks like every house in the massive city of Los Angeles is pounding gunpowder into the sky.

Same here in Tennessee. I remember the gimmicky little stuff like bottle rockets and sparklers, but there was usually only one or two big fireworks parties. Nowadays, every house is lighting up the sky.

Is it simply a matter of more people moving to the Nashville area? Or, are we growing increasingly more proud of America with no better way to show it?

Interesting debate to be had there, fore sure.

I do wish there was some sort of mountaintop in Tennessee where we could all go watch the Nashville fireworks and see all the surrounding areas contributing as well. Can’t imagine it would be this crazy, but still pretty neat.
