I Forgot to Write About Deontay Burnett Making This Badass Catch the Other Day

Man, I hate having to have a day job to pay the bills. Even if I actually knew how to get press passes to training camp, I couldn’t go because SoBros Network simply isn’t paying the bills just yet. Gotta sit around and be a cube monkey for eight hours in order to hopefully live the dream here in a year or two. But, maybe the biggest drawback of all of that is missing potential content that is perfect for our brand and perfect for Titans fans. For instance, let’s take a look at this miracle catch from undrafted free agent wide receiver Deontay Burnett.

That’s crazy.

I should’ve shown y’all this shit THREE DAYS ago. But, I missed it. Then, I sit and toy around with the idea of just posting it late in order to still get it out there before ultimately talking myself out of it because it’s late and if you’re not in on the 24-hour news cycle, you’re just toast, buddy. That’s fact.

But, ultimately, this catch is just too fuckin’ good to let drift off into oblivion. So, here we are. SoBros Network – your ultimate source for three-day-old Titans news. That’s what journalism is all about, folks.

As for the serious Titans analysis in this post, guys – I don’t know what to make of this slew of receivers past Taywan Taylor.

I don’t remember the Titans ever having such a deep group of “could-be” type of guys. Usually, we’re writing about a crew of mediocre guys competing to be a starter. But, this year, the receiving corps actually seems pretty set at the top.

They’ll need a couple of these guys like Burnett. You just wonder who’s going to be the ones to step up.

By all accounts, Darius Jennings and Tajae Sharpe have to be the favorites. Jennings’ name has routinely popped up in camp so far, with the coaches even saying they’d like to carve out a role on special teams for him just to increase his chances of making the roster. Sharpe has a lot of potential if he can return to his 2016 preseason form, but we haven’t heard his name much in camp so far.

Michael Campanaro is likely making this roster, but he may be best utilized as a return man, where he’s relieved Adoree Jackson of some of his first team reps. Veteran Nick Williams is getting some quality reps at receiver as well.

Then, there’s the group of undrafted rookie free agents in Burnett, Devin Ross, and Jordan Veasy. I thought Veasy was poised to be the darling of training camp, and Titans writers have taken notice of him. But, he ain’t out there making catches like Burnett, and coaches aren’t saying they want to carve out special roles for him to make the roster. Ross is more of a speedster who is having a relatively quiet camp so far.

In other words, hell – your guess is as good as mine. But, if you’re going to put a gun to my head, I think Jennings, Sharpe, and Williams make this team.

I don’t know that you’d call this group “deep” at this point, but the Titans will definitely have some decisions to make.
