Officially Official: Nashville Supercross Gets the Green Light

That’s right, the mid-south moto fans are free from the tease of the silly-season rumor mill.  On April 6, 2019, Nashville is getting its own round of Monster Energy Supercross!

As excited as I am that this is finally happening, I don’t think this could have been a successful event until recently.  Nashville has changed, and is growing larger by the minute. Music has been, and still is, the main influence of popularity here, but with the sudden influx of new residents and tourists, there is finally other activities sparking peoples’ interest.

Judging by the popularity and fan attendance of the Nashville Monster Jam events in recent years, I’m assuming Feld Motorsports realized that this town was ready to support Supercross.  We have to admit this was justified as well. There have been a few years of experimentation in the schedule: back-to-back events at the Georgia Dome, Jacksonville is hit or miss, and no other mid-south rounds ever considered.

My theory is this event will succeed in fan attendance and popularity due to multiple key reasons:

-One, Tennessee shares a border with eight states, which will appeal to those who are too far from Atlanta.

-Two, there is a very large parking/event space surrounding Nissan Stadium, which hopefully will mean an exciting pit party.

-And three, Nashville is a tourism magnet, much like Las Vegas.  Fans come to enjoy the race, but also have a plethora of partying and sightseeing options.  Just be sure to give yourself enough time for booking a hotel….it is a popular place!

Personally, I am interested in seeing the type of soil they’ll bring in.  Middle Tennessee is known for its near-surface limestone deposits, but I’ve seen good things out of the soil chosen for the Amsoil Arenacross round.

Another key item the riders and teams will be focused on is the weather.  Early April can be hit or miss on the climate here. Nashville has been known to receive a surprising amount of rain in the Spring, and as we know, Nissan Stadium is an open-air facility.  To be honest though, I’m not concerned about it and neither should you. Because really….who doesn’t love a good mudder?
