The Miami Dolphins selected former Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Christian Wilkins with the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. For good reason, too – the dude is an outright disruptive force along the defensive line. He is as good of a character dude as you could have in the locker room. He’s just a stud. All around.
He probably shouldn’t have even been there at #13, but because of the weird picks of the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants, he was! Everyone thought the Fins would go quarterback, but they went with the game-changing locker room leader on defense. Can’t fault them for that.
But, to say Wilkins was a tad excited to be drafted was an understatement. Dude came out HOT and damn near knocked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell flat on his ass.

I don’t know for a fact that Goodell wears a toupee, but whatever hair he has on his head looked like it was hanging on by a thread when he took the impact of that bump.
Like, his body moves back but his hair stays where it was. It’s like a cartoon. Christian Wilkins went full on Looney Tunes on Goodell.
If you’re Goodell, you have to work on your vertical jump after this. It was embarrassing. Either he didn’t come off the ground at all, or he has a vertical of two inches. It’s not like he didn’t see this coming. As if Wilkins wasn’t a big boy, he was wearing a loud, bright ass suit, too.
Real champions rise to the occasion. You see that mass of humanity coming, you just have to take the bump. You get up there and go shoulder to shoulder with this kid. But, he didn’t – and then Wilkins followed up with a bearhug that might have cracked some of Goodell’s ribs. At the very least it disoriented Goodell’s wig….or if that isn’t a wig….it disoriented Goodell’s wig-like hair.
I don’t think he’s a champion of men after seeing this clip. But, Wilkins sure is.
