Get your fuckin’ tickets out, people. It is July, training camp is just getting started, and it’s time to hop on the Corey Davis hype train. Better hurry – this bitch is leavin’ the station as we speak. Do NOT get left behind.
Training camp started last week for the Tennessee Titans, and Davis has been grabbing headlines left and right. Whether you subscribe to the old ‘third year receiver’ adage or not, Davis certainly appears to be poised for a breakout season. At the very least, it’s fair to say he’s making plays early on in training camp.

It's a super quick video, but it's an awesome catchhttps://t.co/wyuJeA5jXt pic.twitter.com/rbLM2Yq4Sc
Mariota throws deep down the sideline for Corey Davis, who goes up high for an impressive grab over Adoree’ Jackson — despite great coverage.

Look – I know this happens every year. Titans fans inevitably fall in love with a guy in camp or the preseason only to have their hearts broken when meaningful football starts. Be it due to injury or an overall lack of production, it just never seems to pan out for the Titans. We already let out a collective groan when news of A.J. Brown suffering an injury broke.
But, Davis is in a different situation – he’s not a guy fighting to make the roster at an area where the team could use some depth. He’s not attempting to unseat someone we all think needs to be unseated. This is our fucking number one receiver, and the trajectory lines up.
I do think Year 3 is huge for wide receivers – we’re still kind of spoiled from the immediate success of that 2014 class. We’ve kinda forgotten that for most young receivers, it takes time. Davis is on the upswing, though. Marcus Mariota has also come out and said that part of the success of Titans receivers is on him. If he’s better, all of the receivers (not just Davis) are going to be better.
As much as I want to say “don’t get your hopes up,” it seems like there’s this convergence of events that is lining up for Davis to have a big season – more experience, a healthier quarterback, and the results we’re seeing against a damn good secondary in practice. And, if that’s the case, man – this Titans offense could look a lot different than it did in 2018.
Hop on the Corey Davis hype train with me. We’re headin’ to the Pro Bowl, bitches.
