I Don’t Care If the World Ended in 2012

Last week, this Twitter thread dropped and completely blew everyone’s collective mind. I don’t know how else to present this idea, so I’m just going to say it – this dude proposed a conspiracy that the world ended in 2012. Yep – I highly recommend reading the entire thread because it’s entertaining as all get-out, but the gist is that 2012 is the year they discovered the Higgs Boson and it’s possible that doing so caused us to warp into a different universe without noticing it.

Y’all wanna get real trippy for a minute? Let’s make this dark af. Let’s get on some philosophical bullshit.

I’m not going to go as far as to say a greater understanding of the universe isn’t important. But, examining the Mandela Effect can hardly be constituted as “greater understanding.” Y’all are freaking out over some shit that’s reliant upon human memory to work. At a foundational level, it doesn’t work because human memory is about as unreliable as it gets. But, let’s say for a moment that this really did happen and we were sucked through a vacuum and spit out somewhere else in the universe.

What if that’s it? What if that’s all there is? Maybe the extent of all existence is a meaningless loop of time?

If that’s the case, then who cares if the world ended in 2012? Why does it matter? All that matters is your current state of perception. Maybe you have an infinite amount of lives and memories that reside inside your head. But, it doesn’t fucking matter. All you have now is your 2019 brain.

Is it cool to think about? Parallel dimensions and the multiverse? Sure, but ultimately, I don’t really care if the world we used to know ended in 2012. It’s 2019, and regardless of how we got here, we’re here, so I’m going to do what makes me happy. That’s all that really matters.

There’s no true purpose to anything.

Boy, sure as shit bet y’all didn’t ever expect to read something like this on the beacon of positivity that is SoBros Network.
