I Refuse to Call UFOs ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’

‘Unidentified aerial phenomena’ – yeah, apparently, that’s a thing now. Honestly, it has me a little pissed off about this whole UFO thing. But, before we get into that, let’s get the actual news out of the way first.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Three videos posted online that have been described as being related to UFO sightings do indeed include footage of “unidentified aerial phenomena,” a U.S. Navy spokesman confirmed.

But as for specifics, spokesman Joseph Gradisher said the Navy doesn’t know exactly what the objects are.

I know, I know. People are freaking out because the Navy is basically saying these UFOs were watching our military training ranges. I guess that’s terrifying and all. Like, why are y’all aliens watching how we handle our bidness?

Anyway, this is also weird because Tom DeLonge of Blink 182 helped bring this thing to light. If you don’t already know, DeLonge has gone deep into the rabbit hole of extraterrestrial light. Some people call him crazy, but I think he’s badass. And, LOOK! His work is yielding results.

But, yeah – this is a pretty crazy story that has a lot of people concerned, I’m sure. However, I have to draw the line at ‘unidentified aerial phenomena.’

UAP?

Why do we have to change things?! Why does everything need to have a fresh coat of paint in 2019? Can’t we just let the term ‘UFO’ continue its heyday? Why are we re-making movies all the time instead of coming up with creative new stories?

I’m sorry – but this is the main concern…the main issue…to come out of this story.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the term ‘flying object’ compared to ‘aerial phenomena.’ This is just the Navy trying to show us how much smarter they are than the rest of us, and really, that’s condescending. Are we going to start calling boxes ‘paraphernalia receptacles?’ Or, are we going to start calling toilets ‘effluvium repositories?’

Don’t patronize me, U.S. Navy. I’m not falling for this propaganda. They’ll always be ‘UFOs’ to me, damn it.
