Folks, we have got another one. Like the saying goes, “you can’t fix stupid”. This feat of stupidity comes at you from the Bronx Zoo.
The only unfortunate part to this story is the happy ending…
As you may or may not know, I am very Team Lion here. I really feel bad for all these animals that are held up in captivity just salivating for the chance to do what they were born to do…kill. It is written deep inside their DNA, when someone steps into your domain, you kill. Very simple.
When any of them act on their instincts, they are often euthanized and made out to be the bad guy (RIP Harambe). Now, we have come to a point in time where people are looking for social media clicks and willing to do anything for the next “viral video.” This woman jumped into a lion enclosure to display some very poor dance moves in front of a lion who just stares at her. The saving grace for this moron was a moat in between her and the lion.
I really am embarrassed for the lion in that he did not make an attempt to jump the moat. Now, Larry the lion is sitting back with his friends in his enclosure being ridiculed by his buddies. I am sure phrases are being thrown around the lion den like “Larry has gotten soft in his captivity.” I have to imagine it’s a tough crowd in the lion den.
Knowing this is going on in lion culture upsets me. It just builds up Larry’s rage for the next time when he is faced with a thirsty Instagram loser. Talk about a kill AND be killed type environment. Kill the thirst queen and be killed by zookeepers. Do nothing and live the rest of your captured life sitting by yourself at the lunch table.
I feel for you, Larry.
