UFC 244 Preview

In what is anticipated to be the UFC card of the year, UFC 244 has some ridiculous matchups. Perhaps the most talked about fight since Khabib vs McGregor – Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal are headlining the card and the bragging rights to the BMF (Baddest Motherf*cker) title. This fight has VIOLENCE written all over it. Masvidal is on an absolute tear, including the fastest knockout in UFC history. Diaz is a first ballot Hall of Famer who can stand with the best of them. I think if Diaz can weather the storm, he can win by decision. If the fight goes to the ground, Diaz has an advantage too. Masvidal is capable of ending the fight at any moment in time, though. I think this fight is REALLY hard to predict. Vegas has Diaz as the underdog, but if I had to pick, I would side with Diaz.

The co-main event also features two top tier fighters in Kevin Gastellum vs Darren Till. I have great respect for both guys. With that said, I do not think this is a great fight for Till moving up in weight class. Both guys are coming off losses. Till was brutally knocked out by Masvidal. Gastellum lost a war with Israel Adesanya. I think Gastellum gets the better of this one and Vegas seems to agree making him the favorite. There was also a little drama with Till having visa issues. He arrived late in the week which could play into his prep for the fight.

This UFC 244 undercard also has some REALLY great fighters and should make for a remarkable night at Madison Square Garden.
