The ballots are closed. The votes have been tallied. And, I am here to officially announce today that fabled start-up podcast, Bussin’ With The Boys, has won the SoBros Network’s ‘Spirit of Nashville’ Award for 2019.
What exactly is the Spirit of Nashville Award? You can check out the detailed explanation of the award here. But, in short, nominations are earned by representing the core values of SoBros Network (be humble, create fearlessly, uplift others, and GSD (get shit done)). From there, we open it up to a public vote and let SoBros Nation decide who wins it.
It is, to quote David Boclair, “a loosely defined, good natured honor.” I’ll take it. Some of the Nashville media has said much worse about us.
So, how did Bussin’ With The Boys come away with the victory? Well, it was a landslide vote:
- Bussin’ With The Boys – 84.3% (of votes)
- Brett Ison – 3.8%
- Dennis Kelly, Jim Wyatt (tie) – 2.3% each
The boys showed up in full force for this year’s vote. But, you won’t get any argument from me. This fun-loving “guys being dudes” show is the essence of creating fearlessly. Will Compton and Taylor Lewan are unabashedly themselves, and we’re all uplifted for it. Not to mention, the news that Mike Vrabel would cut off his own dick for a Super Bowl win might be the scoop of the year – that’s the real GSD spirit, folks.
So, it’s no wonder that they had a virtual army of people who flooded the site for them.
Bussin’ With The Boys joins former WSMV Meteorologist Paul Heggen (2017) and WKRN’s Good Morning Nashville (2018) as recipients of this award.
This year, the ‘Spirit of Nashville’ is truly #ForTheBoys.
