Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, use #SoBrosMailbag to hit us up on Twitter.

Question:

Answer:

Honestly, it was a bit of culture shock in general. I’m in the same country, so you’d think it wouldn’t be that different, but it really is in a lot of small ways.

Going outside everyday and seeing the different flora and fauna; palm and eucalyptus trees, succulents, yucca, different birds, wild parrots, “daddy long-legs” refer to a different spider out here, and don’t get me started on the Jerusalem Cricket.

The different demographics of people, the clothing styles, people wearing hoodies when it’s in the low 70s, the driving styles, etc.. Nashville is much slower paced and down to earth than San Diego.

From Nashville, I miss the SoBros and food the most. Southern food hasn’t really caught on out here – it’s almost impossible to find grits or catfish, even in grocery stores. No one has even heard of “meat and three” in SoCal.

Question:

Answer:

Alright, I’ve given this a lot of thought. My choices are not necessarily my favorite horror movies, but I’ve chosen based on replay value and hitting my favorite genres.

  1. Scream – I rewatch this one all the time. Fun, campy, slasher that never gets old.
  2. The Taking of Deborah Logan – Satisfies my love of paranormal and found footage horror in one, and it’s just downright creepy as hell.
  3. Misery – Tension, isolation, a serial killer, and I could watch Kathy Bates all day everyday.

Question:

Answer:

I think it would have to be the Jersey Devil. He’s cool looking, he can fly, he lives in the New Jersey Pinelands which is a National Reserve (and seems lovely), and he’s mostly left alone. Bigfoot is too sought after and by all accounts he smells like shit. Skinwalkers are evil witches. And Mothman seems like a pretentious, awkward, harbinger of doom. So yeah, the Jersey Devil seems like he has a nice chill life.

Question:

Answer:

3 ½ inches. And thin.
