Another big time week of XFL action, and just when it looked like the Houston Roughnecks and D.C. Defenders were going to run away with the league, the Los Angeles Wildcats had somethin’ to say about it. The Defenders fell to the Wildcats to the tune of 39-9 (shout out to former Tennessee Titan Tre McBride for his 109 yards and two touchdowns). Because of that, and the St. Louis Battlehawks rocking the New York Guardians 29-9, the Battlehawks now find themselves atop the XFL East.
But, that’s not the only reason I say the Battlehawks steal the XFL headlines for Week 3. Overall, attendance is up across the XFL. But, the Battlehawks had the highest attended home opener in the league with 29,554 fans in attendance for the return of football in St. Louis. The fine folks in St. Louis get to have their football back, baby! They are showin’ OUT for the Battlehawks. Ya love to see it.
We also saw the first kickoff return in league history in that Battlehawks-Guardians game:
