Give Me Goldberg Vs. Roman Reigns, You Cowards

"Big Natural" Stoney Keeley weighs in on the controversial Universal Championship win for Goldberg and his potential WrestleMania opponent.

I am here for the chaos. I’m not an agent of chaos like Heath Ledger’s Joker, but I damn sure love to watch the world burn (sometimes). That’s exactly what happened last week when Goldberg won the Universal Championship at WWE’s latest blood money show.

First of all, yes. That match sucked ass. It was basically just two guys exchanging finishers for two minutes (if that) and then Goldberg executing a standard issue vertical suplex that they tried to pass off as a Jackhammer. Nope. That wasn’t it, chief. I have no idea what the WWE is trying to do with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. It seems like they’re literally just booking the dude on the fly. They tried to get him over, and thought, “fuck it – let’s put him in a title match with Seth Rollins.” Then, they remembered that part about trying to get him over and figured, “shit – I guess we HAVE to put the title on him, right?”

So, they want to get to the big (now confirmed) Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 36 on the pirate ship in Tampa. But…ah yeah…that Fiend guy has the title we put on him!!! Forget the last several months of building him up. Goldberg can’t go for longer than a few minutes, and we really need him for WrestleMania, so let’s just make this quick.

And so, WWE fans blew up. I’m surprised we didn’t see another #CancelWWENetwork trend going after the incident. But, I say, “do it, you fucking cowards. Put Goldberg and Reigns, FOR THE TITLE, on your biggest show of the year…”

This feels like the thousandth time this has happened. I’m beyond questioning it anymore. There was never any doubt in my mind that it would go down this way. You guys that keep hoping for more are just setting yourselves up for an emotional letdown. Ya hate to see it.

Reigns came out and said he’d rather face The Fiend at WrestleMania. Folks, they’re already sowing the seeds for the diehards. It’s all apart of the story. The casual fans aren’t going to be scouring Twitter or the dirt sheets looking for behind-the-scenes info and any rumor crumbs they can get. The casual fans are just going to see ‘Goldberg’ and ‘Roman Reigns’ and think they’re getting two big bulls lockin’ horns. But, it’s a nod to those of you who might be pissed off. They’re thinking y’all are going to see this and it’ll ease y’all off a bit – man, Reigns is right! I like what he has to say! I hope he beats Goldberg! And, now you’re invested. At the very least, you’re talking.

It’s all a work, brother.

In this day and age, you either like the WWE style or you don’t. That’s all it comes down to. And, if you don’t like what they’re doing, hit up IWTV, ’cause there damn sure has to be SOME sort of wrestling out there that WILL please you guys.

Y’all just gotta let go of this idea that they’re going to put over every single guy that gets “this is awesome” or “fight forever” chants. This is a big money match, and I can’t wait to see how awful it is. Hell, maybe this whole thing was a work for guys like me. They’re like….we gotta get the guy who’s on the fence about WrestleMania as a whole on board…let’s do something to get people talking again! BOOM – here I am, writing about how excited this whole thing has made me about WrestleMania.

So, I say give me Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns. I am one million percent here for the shit show.
