Sports Book William Hill Expects the AFC South to Be Super Close

At least one big time sports book thinks that the AFC South is going to be incredibly close in 2020.

The AFC South race in 2019 was an interesting one. It ultimately came down to the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans, with the Indianapolis Colts on the outside looking in and the shitty Jacksonville Jaguars out of the race…pretty much…after Week 4.

We know the Colts have a really talented roster with several cornerstone pieces they can build around. The Titans and Texans aren’t going anywhere, despite the desperate attempts of Bill O’Brien to put the Texans in the basement of the AFC South. So, I’m not expecting this division to loosen up any time soon.

According to noted #OurGuy of the SoBros Network, Allan Bell of SportsLine, at least one big time sports book agrees, and thinks this division is going to be hella close:

Big time three way we got on our hands as it stands here in March. Free agency and the NFL Draft are going to effect these odds, but ultimately, I think this thing will still be close once the final odds are set.

Some of the major questions surrounding this division have to do with the Titans. Will they keep Derrick Henry and/or Ryan Tannehill? Are they about to add Tom Brady? What is the defense going to look like now that Dean Pees has ridden off into the sunset?

The Jags appear to be a fire sale at this point…they’re trying to trade and dump just about anybody they can. The Colts have questions at quarterback, too…some even seem to think Indy could be the landing spot for Philip Rivers.

I don’t know. This division seems to have developed a way of being jumbled up for the last several seasons. I expect the Titans to be the favorites in 2020 after their thrilling run to the AFC Championship in 2019. We’ll see how they play with such expectations.
