Y’all Best Leave the ‘Flayed Lord’ Alone, Alright?

Stoney Keeley implores people to stop digging up deities that are represented by a skinless human corpse like the Flayed Lord.

When will we learn? When will people finally realize that if you go digging up bones, you’re going to get ghosts? You can trademark that phrase to me. I just came up with it, and it’s honestly pretty badass. Anyway, I don’t want any problems with a deity named the Flayed Lord, much less after I read that the dude is represented by a skinless human corpse. That’s the part that makes me think maybe we ought to just leave this one where it lies before we end up as a footnote in the next Indiana Jones movie.

Archeologists have uncovered the first known temple to the important pre-Hispanic deity called the Flayed Lord, who is represented by a human’s skinless corpse. The Flayed Lord, or Xipe Tótec, was linked with fertility, agricultural cycles and war, according to a statement from Mexican authorities released on Wednesday.

Yeah, again…I would prefer it if you guys could just abandon this story right where it is. Just walk away. Let’s give the Flayed Lord his shine. We’ll talk about what a badass motherfucker he was and move on with our lives.

Y’all start talking about how priests would literally skin people on altars and then cover themselves in the skin and you lose me. That’s when I start having bad thoughts like, “hey, maybe this wasn’t such a good idea, guys.” Things have gone too far, and I don’t want whatever voodoo can come about because of it.

Any ghosts come my way asking about it, then I’m gonna send ’em y’all’s way. The only reason I’m perpetuating this story on record is because I hope the Flayed Lord will spare me if he sees me advocating for leaving him alone.

Thank you, Flayed Lord. Respect.
