That’s right. It is literally the day of the NFL Draft and I am releasing my NFL Mock Draft 1.0. Some people are on…like…20.4…but not me. I don’t like to change things up. Call me crazy, but I’m very much the ‘one and done’ type. So, let’s dive right in – I don’t mock trades. Shit’s too crazy. I’m picking things straight up with the current draft order.

2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow – Burrow HAS to be the guy, right?!?! The Bengals need a hard reset at the quarterback position and Burrow is the clear #1 in this class.

2. Washington R-Words: Chase Young – There’s some talk that Washington is open to trading back. Maybe someone wants to come up and grab Tua, but I think Washington likes Young enough to stick with the pick.

3. Detroit Lions: Derrick Brown – Passing on Jeff Okudah after shipping Darius Slay off feels like the most Lions move possible. That’s why I like it here.

4. New York Giants: Jedrick Wills – Dave Gettleman loves him some boys that can duke it out in the trenches. I think Wills is the best tackle in this class.

5. Miami Dolphins: Tristan Wirfs – The rumblings out there now are that the Dolphins are trying to get into the top three to insure they get their tackle. That sounds insane to me with Tua still on the board, but tackle is another massive need in Miami.

6. Los Angeles Chargers: Tua Tagovailoa – The Chargers absolutely luck into the future of their franchise.

7. Carolina Panthers: Jeff Okudah – The Panthers are absolutely ecstatic to see the best corner and third best overall player fall to ’em at #7.

8. Arizona Cardinals: Andrew Thomas – The Cardinals have some play-makers, but they need to upgrade the offensive line.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars: Isaiah Simmons – With needs all over their overhauled defense, the Jags are stoked to get Simmons, who can fly all over the field.

10. Cleveland Browns: Mekhi Becton – Becton is a little raw, but shows a ton of potential and the Browns desperately need help at tackle.

11. New York Jets: CeeDee Lamb – With the run on elite tackles, the Jets are able to address another huge need with a prospect many consider to be the best receiver in this draft.

12. Las Vegas Raiders: Henry Ruggs III – Speed, speed, speed. The Raiders need a true #1 and get, in my opinion, the best receiver in this class.

13. San Francisco 49ers: Jerry Jeudy – We’ve got us a little run on receivers here, but the Niners desperately need a true #1 wideout. I don’t think the rumored injury concerns about Jeudy are valid.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Josh Jones – I could see the Bucs shocking us and going running back here, but they need a major overhaul along the offensive line. This may be a little early for Jones, but he’s incredibly versatile and shows a wealth of potential.

15. Denver Broncos: C.J. Henderson – Henderson slipping to #15 is an absolutely crime. But, with the top three receivers gone, the Broncos are happy to take the second best corner in this draft.

16. Atlanta Falcons: Kristian Fulton – The Falcons are rumored to be in the mix to trade up for Henderson, but since I don’t mock trades, they’re staying at #16 and STILL getting a quality starter at corner.

17. Dallas Cowboys: Trevon Diggs – Byron Jones is in Miami, meaning there’s a huge hole at cornerback.

18. Miami Dolphins: Justin Herbert – If the Dolphins pass on a quarterback at #5, I think they’ll still be in a great position to snag a good one here unless someone trades up to get Herbert. I honestly think the Patriots are the only team the Dolphins have to worry about here.

19. Las Vegas Raiders: K’Lavon Chaisson – The Raiders need to beef up that defense after grabbing their play-making receiver.

20. Jacksonville Jaguars: Javon Kinlaw – Again, the Jags have to beef up that defense if they have any shot at returning to their 2017 level of dominance.

21. Philadelphia Eagles: Kenneth Murray – The Eagles need another horse in the linebacking stable, and they’ll be ecstatic to grab Murray at #21.

22. Minnesota Vikings: A.J. Terrell – The Vikings need someone to start opposite Mike Hughes in the secondary. That’s the missing piece on this defense.

23. New England Patriots: A.J. Epenesa – Epenesa is a safe pick – he’s pass rush engine the Patriots need. But, I’m not going to be surprised if they roll the dice on Jordan Love here.

24. New Orleans Saints: Patrick Queen – One of the best players in this draft slides all the way to the linebacker-needy Saints. This would be an incredibly easy decision should Queen actually be available at this point.

25. Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson – After shoring up their cornerback position, the Vikings add a weapon at receiver to help negate the blow of losing Stefon Diggs.

26. Miami Dolphins: Tee Higgins – Don’t rule out another offensive tackle or even D’Andre Swift here. I think the philosophy will be to build around whoever their young quarterback is. But, I like Tee Higgins to pair opposite DeVante Parker.

27. Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos – I’m not as high on Gross-Matos on everyone else. I think he needs to go somewhere that will utilize his strengths. There aren’t many better at recognizing strength, using you where you’re most effective, and allowing you to be you than Pete Carroll. He just so happens to fill one of their biggest needs.

28. Baltimore Ravens: Ross Blacklock – After a historic season on offense, the Ravens need to beef up their defense. Blacklock has elite potential as a pass rushing defensive tackle. They like their agitators in Baltimore, and Blacklock fits the bill.

29. Tennessee Titans: Jeff Gladney – The Titans need someone that can run with speed receivers. Gladney has the speed to run with ’em, but he’s also sticky enough to aggravate them too.

30. Green Bay Packers: Brandon Aiyuk – The Packers used to have one of the most feared receiving corps in the NFL. That’s far from the case in 2020. They have to add a receiver, and Aiyuk would be an incredible choice.

31. San Francisco 49ers: Jaylon Johnson – Johnson is climbing up draft boards and happens to fill a major need on an already vaunted defense.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: Zack Baun – The Chiefs need to add another play-maker to their linebacking corps. Baun can drop into coverage when called upon and can rush the passer like crazy.
