I’ve written about the quarterback battle that’s going to go on for the Alabama Crimson Tide this summer (if there even is a summer). Given such a weird offseason, I definitely think the job belongs to Mac Jones now. But, the rumblings of the ability and electricity that true freshman, and the top overall recruit from the 2020 class, Bryce Young, brings to the position are picking up some steam.
Whether or not he takes over in 2020, Young is definitely the future of the position in Tuscaloosa, and it definitely appears to be a bright one. Now, news is dropping that in addition to being an explosive athlete, Bryce Young also happens to be a certified perfect genius.
The first semester of college wasn’t a normal one for Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, but the true freshman didn’t allow the distractions of a global pandemic, that canceled the spring football season before it even started, to affect his performance in the classroom.
On Friday, Young’s father shared his son’s spring semester GPA, which was a perfect 4.0.
There you have it, folks. Young is officially a genius – that’s what a 4.0 GPA means, officially. In case you didn’t know, you can’t get any higher than a 4.0 when it comes to the GPA game.
And, people say we need Vanderbilt to stay in the SEC to help the conference’s academics…PFFFFFFFFTTTTTT!
Just put it all on Young’s shoulders. Real talk, though – this kid is going to be something special. Whether he’s the starting quarterback for the Tide by season’s end or not remains to be seen, but he has the pedigree, he has the dual-threat ability, and please sit down for this one….has been called “Lamar Jackson 2.0.”
No pressure or anything – but there’s plenty of reason for Tide fans to get excited about this kid.
