Big, big news for Alabama Crimson Tide fans earlier in the week. Via Twitter, four-star wide receiver prospect, Christian Leary, announced that he indeed intends to head to Tuscaloosa. He’s set to join Jacorey Brooks and Agiye Hall in a receiving corps that figures to keep that Tide unit firmly entrenched as one of the elite groups in all of college football.

In case you don’t know much about Leary, this dude is a legit BURNER. He’s 5’9″ and 180 pounds out of Orlando, Florida. 247Sports lists him as the #15 ranked receiver coming out of the 2021 class (Brooks is #8, Hall is #12 – all three of these ‘Bama commits are coming out of the state of Florida). Leary is known for his speed, and could immediately step in and fill the Jaylen Waddle role, as Waddle figures to be the latest in a slew of first-round Tide receiver draft picks.

The guy had 1,564 total yards and 16 total touchdowns in 2019 – that’s thanks to 46 catches for 1,036 yards and 56 rushes for 528 yards. The scoring breakdown is split down the middle – eight rushing touchdowns, and eight receiving touchdowns. Leary averaged 15.3 yards per touch in 2019, with 9.4 yards per carry and 22.5 yards per catch. That’s insane. But, if you had any doubt about his speed and explosiveness, just watch some of his highlights.

Get on your horse, young man – Tide fans ought to be super excited about this kid (and Brooks and Hall, for that matter – 2021 is going to field a STACKED receiver group).

Christian Leary had 43 total offers (including from every team in the SEC except for LSU and Missouri). I don’t know when this shift happened, but it sure seems like Alabama is becoming Wide Receiver U, if it isn’t already.
