Jaguars at Titans NFL DFS Advice

(Derrick Henry): Henry has some of his biggest games against Jacksonville. Among them include an 11-24-19 stat line that included 19 carries for 159 yards with a touchdown and a 12-6-18 stat line that included 17 carries for 238 yards and four touchdowns.

(A.J. Brown, Corey Davis): Jacksonville trots out a young defensive backfield that includes No. 9 overall pick CB C.J. Henderson. This may look promising on the surface. There are a few problems.

  • Both players have leg injuries. This indicates that they aren’t 100 percent following a short week.
  • At best, Brown and Davis are playing second-fiddle to RB Henry.
  • Along with playing second-fiddle, this game could play out similarly to Denver. There are many vultures. Among them are WR Adam Humphries, TEs Jonnu Smith, MyCole Pruitt, Anthony Firkser, and possibly even RB Darrynton Evans as a PPR back. Tennessee’s passing offense prefers to utilize a diversified approach.
  • Pro Football Focus had a very high grade for rookie CB Henderson. They expect him to cover WR Davis. Brown would have the much lower rated CB Tre Herndon.

(Jacksonville’s offense): Let’s review some things that we learned about this new Jacksonville offense after its Week 1 upset victory against the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Keelan Cole played the vast majority of snaps inside the slot. DJ Chark Jr. split most of his time at LWR and RWR. Laviska Shenault Jr. appeared like the No. 2 outside WR who was utilized as a gadget player at RB and QB. WR Dede Westbrook was inactive. WR Chris Conley was barely used.
  • There wasn’t a complete abandonment of the ground game. Rookie RB James Robinson had 90 total yards (62 rushing on 16 carries). While not overly impressive, no other RB tallied a carry. A $4400 for a RB with some PPR upside whose only committee competition appears like Chris Thompson catching a few passes? Robinson is playable.
  • Despite Jacksonville’s status as expected AFC South basement doormat, they have the weapons to exploit a Tennessee defensive backfield that misses No. 1 CB AdoreeJackson. Don’t forget that they’re adjusting to life without stout nickelback Logan Ryan.

(NOTE 1): This game has potential to go OVER 42.5. The Titans should score a minimum of 20 points. The Jaguars could exceed 20 points either through QB Minshew exploiting an injury ravaged defensive backfield or, much like former Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette in 2019, garbage time stats. I’m not expecting one of their trademark 9-6 games.

(NOTE 2): RB Henry is an elite play. WR Brown is one of many WRs sandwiched between $5700 and $6400 who find themselves in solid situations. He’s not my favorite play but he’s worth a look. Keep an eye on his injury status.

(NOTE 3). Titans have an inexpensive offense that has stack potential. Consider stacking QB Tannehill with WR Brown and TE Smith. Yet again, there’s risk with RB Henry and the vultures scoring touchdowns.

(NOTE 4): Stacking Jacksonville makes sense. For Jacksonville to upset Tennessee, Minshew needs a strong performance. Even if Tennessee enjoys a blowout victory, Minshew and his receivers could clean up during garbage time. Try some Minshew stacks with Chark Jr. and Shenault Jr. Much like Tennessee, they have a slew of TEs and RBs (plus WR Cole) who are vultures.
