Nashville, They’re Shootin’ for November 1 to Bring Sports Betting to the People

It sure as hell sounds like we're getting pretty close to having online sports betting in Nashville - THIS season!

Big, big news for those degenerate gamblers out there. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I know for a fact that everyone in Nashville that talks about gambling is doing so *for entertainment purposes only* – BUT, now it sounds like we might finally get a chance to place our wagers for real instead of just bragging rights….which….again, is all that anyone in Nashville does.

Never seen or heard of any sports betting going on around here, because that is not legal and Nashville is a city of people who definitely respect the law. Don’t worry, cops – if I hear of anyone betting, I’ll let y’all know.

Nonetheless, news dropped yesterday that, even though Tennessee first got the greenlight for sports wagering like a year and a half ago or for what feels forever ago, they’re gunning for a go-live date of November 1, 2020 to actually make online sports betting legal and available in the state of Tennessee.

Hargrove said the urgency to get going slowed down during the pandemic. The reason was a lack of sports this summer, but Hargrove said they continued moving forward anyway.

“It’s better to be right than in a hurry. It’s better to be safe. It’s better to make sure everyone is vetted accurately and completely and that’s been our process,” Hargrove said.

The goal is to go online starting November 1.

Hell yeah!

Now, I should reiterate – this is strictly for online betting as our guy Steven McCash pointed out to me. We’re still a way’s (scientific term) away from being able to go crush some beers at a sportsbook and drain our savings. But, this is still a huge win.

It’s a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m typing about this as if we’re all going to get rich when in reality, we all know damn well that most of us are going to be broke, having spent the kids’ Christmas fund, by Thanksgiving. Just let us have this for a little bit, okay?

Finally, shout out to Allan Bell out there all over the place, popping up on the radio and on the news. He’s everywhere. Keep grinding, king.

Oh, I should also be responsible and say that if you have a gambling problem, you should call that number for that place that helps people with gambling problems. You got this.
