We're passin' out first quarter MVP honors now, and on offense, it's gotta go to the gunslinger.

Hard to believe, but we’re here, guys. An entire quarter of Tennessee Titans football is on the books, and the team is sitting atop the AFC at 4-0. Time to pass out some MVP honors for the first four games. First up, we’re takin’ a look at the offense and quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

What the hell happened? I thought y’all were saying that there was absolutely no way that Ryan Tannehill could replicate the success he had in 2019. This is the bill of goods I was sold by big national media guys. I read your power rankings…I saw you putting Tannehill at #18 and #20 among starting NFL quarterbacks. Where are y’all now? Where’d the chirping go?

The fact is that Tannehill has not only sustained the level of success he was having in this offense in 2019, but he might’ve even taken his game to another level. I feel like those of us who have actually watched the Titans regularly over the last year have seen how perfect this offense is for him. Arthur Smith gave that man his wings and now he is flying like an eagle.

On the season, Tannehill is 91/132 for 1,004 yards, nine touchdowns, and one interception. His 110.8 passer rating is good for 5th in the NFL. He’s generated four total touchdowns twice this season (against the Bills and Jags). His 82.9 QBR is good for 4th in the league. It’s time we say it, folks – Ryan Tannehill is a legitimate contender for MVP of the whole got damn league.
