Meet Tempo the coyote, who happens to be the official mascot of Nashville SC.

Big news out of the Nashville sports scene yesterday morning as Nashville SC has unveiled their mascot – which we all know is a critical component of a successful sports franchise – and personally, I could not possibly be more excited about the choice. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Tempo the Coyote to the Nashville sports landscape.

Per Nashville SC:

In 2019, a coyote wandered from the hills around Nashville into a bathroom at the Music City Center. After his moment of viral fame, he was released back into the wild, but he couldn’t seem to resist the big city. This year, construction workers at our stadium at The Fairgrounds found him dashing around, bounding from end to end where our home pitch is going to be. Tempo the Coyote loved being at our stadium so much, he decided to make it his home. Now, Tempo the Coyote has a whole band of friends to cheer on Nashville SC with every weekend!

This makes me so so happy. Now, the Music City Center coyote is immortalized in the great, rich history of this city. If only there was a way we could tell the Music City Center coyote. That’s the only bit of this story that I would consider, not to be dramatic, tragic.

I said two years ago that if coyotes possess the ingenuity to get into the bathroom at the convention center, they should just let them stay there. I’m incredibly relieved that after all this time, the Music City Center agreed with me and let Tempo stay in that bathroom. Now, he’s risen to become the mascot of Nashville SC. It’s a true success story.

Nashville low key has one of the strongest mascot games in all of sports. We all know what a bundle of energy T-Rac is. Gnash has literally become a president (President of Smashville, I believe). And, Booster is…a giant rooster. Nonetheless, you get my point.

If you weren’t a Nashville SC fan before, you have to be one now.
