Take a look at that fine stallion of a man. Does Jon Robinson look like the type of guy who’s going to tip his hand when he’s on one hell of a heater? Naw – y’all got it twisted. That man is in firm control of the Tennessee Titans. He is one wheelin’ and dealin’ son of a gun, and if you think you have him figured out, well, chances are, you’ve been plain fooled by him. In all likelihood, he’s got you eating out of the palm of his hand.
That’s the reputation Robinson has built over the course of his tenure as GM of the Titans. Always looking to deal, drafting and signing players that fit the Titans philosophy, just being one charming devil in general.

The NFL Draft rumors are heating up with the draft less than two weeks away.
With that being said, Matt Miller is hearing the Titans could go Marshon Lattimore or Mike Williams with the No. 5 overall pick. More on what Miller is hearing. “If Lattimore is on the board at No. 5 overall, I expect he’ll be the team’s pick. If Lattimore is gone, to Chicago for example, look for Williams to get heavy consideration”.
It’s that time of the year, folks. These rumors are swirling everywhere, and it’s impossible to tell what’s legitimate and what’s just a smokescreen. But, I can’t imagine Robinson just putting this information out there without some sort of end game in mind.
The New York Jets have been rumored to be heavily interested in Lattimore. The Browns have just visited with Williams. The Bills have been a favorite landing spot for Williams since mock drafts were first being made this season. There are a lot of suitors for these two players, so it makes sense for Robinson to stir up interest should he want to move down in the first round and pick up some extra picks.
And, the rumors have just enough of an element of truth to them that they’re feasible. The Titans need an elite cornerback and could use a talented playmaker on offense. So, it’s not unreasonable to think that the Titans could go with either of these guys. I just don’t think it’ll happen.
Lattimore is a one-year wonder with a history of injuries. That doesn’t seem to jive with Robinson’s philosophy of drafting players with productive careers. One thing we haven’t considered throughout this entire process is that Robinson and head coach Mike Mularkey seem pretty high on LeShaun Sims. Cornerback may not be as urgent a need as we make it out to be in the decision-makers’ eyes.
Williams is another fine player, but do the Titans need receiver help badly enough to spend the 5th overall pick on the former Clemson Tiger? I don’t know – Rishard Matthews had a gutsy campaign in 2015. Tajae Sharpe has another offseason under his belt. I think they’ll wait to address receiver in the mid-late rounds.
It’s dangerous business jumping in on all of these rumors. Thankfully, we’re just a little slice of life comedy blog out of Nashville. Shit – what credibility do we have to lose?
