Stop and think about it – what would you do for a delicious brownie? Now imagine that you’re a bear and you really LOVE brownies. Don’t you think you’d at least consider knocking on a door to see if you could get to such delicious chocolatey goodness? I mean, come on – it doesn’t seem unreasonable at all.
A bear in the US state of Connecticut would not take no for an answer after showing up at a homeowner’s back porch for fresh-baked brownies.
The unwanted ursine guest managed to rip off the screen door, but was unable to open the glass sliding door, even after climbing on to a porch handrail.
Seems a little rude to insult a guest like this. I don’t know if he smelled like urine or not, but even if he did, it seems inappropriate to call someone a urine guest.
And, hey – I’ve been saying it for years. If you don’t want unwanted guests, specifically wild bears, showing up at your house, don’t make brownies. It’s that simple. I’ve never once made brownies, and you know how many wild bears have shown up at my apartment in Hermitage, Tennessee? That’s right – 0. 0 live bears have come wrapping at my door.
Plus, how did these people know the bear wouldn’t take no for an answer? Did they actually tell him no? Were they surprised that the bear probably had no fucking clue what they were doing? Did they not comprehend that all the bear was experiencing was a strong lustful yearning for brownies? Come on, people – you have to know better.
A neighbour who came into the house in the town of Avon and took these photos said it was “a harrowing experience”.
Bill Belfiore said the black bear refused to be scared off.
“Though it looks cute on the railing, this bear was angry about not being able to get at the food,” said Mr Belfiore.
He told emergency responders: “We have a bear attempting to get into a house and he’s not afraid of noise, screaming or yelling or pounding.”
Probably wasn’t scared – was probably just wondering what the hell you were doing beating and banging on all the furniture and yelling. Hell, he may have even stuck around to see if you were okay…like, he was beginning to think, “they aren’t answering any of the doors. I don’t guess they want me around. I better go home.” But, then, he was all, “shit – this guy looks like he’s losing his mind. I better stick around until the first responders get here to make sure he doesn’t die.”
After pawing at the backdoor – which leads to the kitchen – the stubborn bear tried accessing other doors to the home.
By the time police responded, the bear had already lost interest and left.
Well, yeah – you called the cops on him! I can tell you right now one surefire way to get me to lose interest in something is to call the cops on me. At that point, shit yeah I’m tucking tail and running for the hills. I’m probably even camping out in the woods for a few days ’til it all blows over – really depends on how much booze is flowing through my veins.
There’s a lesson here, kids. If you don’t want wild bears at your house, don’t make brownies. Plain and simple.
Also, this bear is wearing a really hideous pair of earrings, so we know there’s no sense of fashion there.
