For the second consecutive day, I’m starting a post with, “well – don’t expect much to get done in Nashville today.” But, I made the hard crawl into the office at the day job. A lot of people are excited. A lot of people are loading up on Tylenol and coffee. And, a lot of people are actually missing. We’re all assuming they’re just hungover and working from the bed, but it’s a good possibility they’ve been lost to the city given the massive party that took place in Nashville last night.
I can’t say it enough – this is a gutsy team. To quote P.K. Subban who quoted The Immortal RHog, “good teams find a way.” The Preds have found a way after defeating the Anaheim Ducks 6-3, and clinching the Western Conference Championship, winning the series four games to two.
What a feeling it is – it’s one that I haven’t felt since the Tennessee Titans made it to the Super Bowl, but even then, Nashville wasn’t the city it is today. Last night’s game drew a 16.5 rating….that’s astronomical to a team that would’ve been happy with a 6.0. Everyone is coming together to support our Preds, and it’s a beautiful thing and I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Anyway, I don’t have the hockey mind to break down X’s and O’s with you guys – I wish I did and if you’re reading this and do want to cover the Preds for this site, feel free to DM us on Facebook or Twitter or shoot us an e-mail at thesobrosnetwork@gmail.com and we’ll have that discussion.
But, I won’t try and break down what went right and what went wrong today. The time for that has passed, but before we move on to Pittsburgh (or Ottawa), let’s just take a moment to let this all soak in.
Let’s. Go. @PredsNHL !!!! #Smashville #NHLWesternConferenceFinals

I firmly believe that the blessing of wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett served as the primary motivation for last night’s performance.
Might be just as many #Preds fans outside as there are inside. #Smashville knows how to do it. #StandWithUs pic.twitter.com/lSM2EUFCk7

Crazy to see how beloved this team has become, and how much Nashville has matured as a hockey market. It’s a testament to our community, though – the Preds are family.
Ryan Johansen and Kevin Fiala are both injured but they still came out to support the Nashville Predators… #Ferda pic.twitter.com/KxmJABLCgr

Johansen rising out of his wheelchair to wave that towel may have been the loudest moment of the evening except for the game going final.

I proclaim, all babies born 9 months from today in the state of Tenneseee be named Colton, regardless of sex. #hattrick

Sissons stepped up in a major way last night. A WCF hat trick that helped send the team to the Stanley Cup Final. I stand with Gnash. Side note: ALWAYS WEAR A HAT YOU DON’T MIND LOSING TO A HOCKEY GAME. I have one reserved strictly for this purpose.

The love for Pekka Rinne is obvious and well-deserved. He is the rock of this franchise.

Lavy dropping an ALL TIME fist pump, hoisting that leg into the air when he realized they were going to take this game.

The GLORIOUS one himself weighing in.
What a time to be alive in Nashville. Enjoy it today, folks – there’s one more series to win, and if we bring the Stanley Cup to the Music City, then by God, we’re going to CRUSH BEERS.
