It’s hard times being a single man in 2017. Even if you aren’t a total piece of shit, it can be hard to find a good woman who isn’t a total piece of shit. Mainly because people in general just seem like pieces of shit these days. But, that’s neither here nor there. The point is that every now and then, those of you who are still “in the game” get a beacon of hope that maybe someone special is out there. This is one of those tales.
Props to The New Orleans Times-Picayune:
Elyse Chelsea Clark said yes — to a big box of hot, fresh Popeyes fried chicken, that is.
The New Orleans woman posted a gallery of photos to Facebookon Tuesday (April 26) showing her enjoying the glories of a stack of fresh Popeyes boxes with chicken and all the fixings.
Her post, which was shot in the style of an engagement photo shoot, shows Clark, a bartender who works on Bourbon Street, staring longingly at boxes of chicken, smooching a biscuit and frolicking in a park with a chicken tender in hand.
Popeye’s come few and far between here in Nashville. But, when you find one, I can only imagine it’s like the feeling of finding a leprechaun’s pot of gold. I’ve never found a leprechaun’s pot of gold, so I can say so definitively. Hot damn, is Popeye’s good or what, though?
If there’s any fast food…err…excuse me…quick-service (gotta be sensitive to the fast food crowd) establishment worth marrying, it’s Popeye’s. It’s a fried chicken joint that produces some quality food, but isn’t so popular that its fame will come in between your relationship.
So, right away, we know Ms. Clark has elite taste in food, and an elite understanding of social constructs. She knows what she’s doing. This is a woman that deserves to be treated right.
Added points for including the biscuit – the most underrated component of any fried chicken meal.
The hilarious photos, which she captioned, “I SAID YES!”, were credited to Whitney Tucker of Whitness This Photography. An updated version of the Facebook gallery reads, “I never thought in a million years someone would love me this much.”
^Just leaving this in here in case we can drive any sort of interest or business Whitney’s way. We believe in giving credit where credit’s due and trying to help people in the process.
Clark admits she does hope Popeyes sees the gallery and that she gets a response from the fast food chain. It wouldn’t be her first flirtation with the company on social media — she once tweeted that she loved Popeyes and get a “love you” right back, she said — and she’s planning to live stream her dinner tonight: Popeyes chicken.
You do good in the world and you can bet your ass you’re going to get the SoBros Network machine behind you. Now, that machine may be like….10 people…but it’s 10 really loyal people.
Check out the full post here. These pictures are gold. Keep on keepin’ on, Ms. Clark.
