Whoa. Just when I was sittin’ here thinking that “Turn Down For What” had passed its prime, IT’S BACK! And, in grand fashion no less – a stirring rendition delivered straight from the back woods of Austria.
I mean, yeah – this is kind of alarming. I have no idea what the fuck is going on in this video, but I’m positive it doesn’t matter.
It could be some sort of childrens music festival. Or, like Field Day. For those of you reading who did not attend Gladeville Elementary in the 1990s, Field Day was the shit. The one day of the year when the teachers made up games and random activities for us to do outside all day. It was a dream.
That’s what this looks like. I don’t know if it’s real life. I have no idea what the DJ is saying….no idea why the DJ is even necessary. I certainly have no clue what that woman was doing with her hands before the beat dropped.

Ma’am there are children present. I don’t think this is appropriate. But, that’s the beautiful thing about this video. You just have no idea what’s going to happen. It looks like your regular every day Scandinavian backyard EDM festival. Then, the camera pans out and it’s a sea of children just amped out of their minds because it’s “Turn Down For What” so who wouldn’t be amped?
By the way, have I mentioned how much I LOVE the recorder? Most underrated instrument on the planet. Easy to play, and sounds like the dolphin’s cry. It’s just too bad these kids suck ass at playing recorder. Not to be harsh, but they were off like crazy. At one point, it sounded like the wind whistling through multiple cracks in a window.
I love the nerdy parent dancing, too. Nice try, but you should know in a performance like this, the kids aren’t going to give two shits about your encouragement. They’re too busy concentrating on the music.
All the makings of a classic internet video with the added bonus of getting me HYPED. Good job, Germany.
