Hold the phone and shut the front door – just when you think the news is nothing but doom and gloom, a ray of hope just shoots right through the facade.

The popular 1990s cartoon series “Animaniacs” could be getting a reboot — reportedly with the help of original creator Steven Spielberg, according to IndieWire.
The new version is being worked on by Amblin Television and Warner Bros., but currently doesn’t have a clear home to air as it is still early in the development process, IndieWire reports.
This is obviously big news for any 90s kid, and that’s most of if not all of our team here. So, on behalf of the entire SoBros Network crew, I’d just like to throw our site in the running to air this. We have a YouTube channel – I’m sure we can configure it to show these new episodes somehow. Just throwing it out there – it would be a YUGE honor.
The slapstick series featured a variety of skits with a big cast of characters, but the main trio was Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko and Dot, who lived in the Warner Bros. water tower until the ’90s when they escaped and began interacting with workers and other people roaming the lot.
It was Spielberg’s follow-up to his highly popular other series “Tiny Toon Adventures” and it gave birth to the spin-off “Pinky and the Brain.”
All of these series deserve a resurrection – like the Easter of Spielberg cartoons. I can’t even begin to describe how happy this is making me right now. I’m on the verge of tears. So many afternoons spent frying my brain watching this mindless program – all the while ignoring my homework and eventually getting less-than-ideal grades.
Playing with action figures, eating dinner, and running around the house like a wild child. Just….*sigh* I never thought the day would come when I’d get to relive my childhood and watch cartoons as a grown ass man. I may drink some Kool-Aid and cook up some Chicken Voila just to reflect upon the good ol’ days.
Animaniacs was a real staple of 1990s programming – right up there with Nicktoons, Dexter’s Laboratory, and SNICK. But, listen – you tell me Freakazoid’s getting a reboot and I very well could need a dribeflerator or whatever that thing is that shocks your heart back to life.
