Thankfully, we can always revisit things like Derrius Guice absolutely steamrolling Louisville’s kicker in the Citrus Bowl. Good thing, too, because we’re in the No Man’s Land of the football calendar year. There’s absolutely nothing going on right now. If you want football coverage, right now, all we got is a tweet from Adoree Jackson and the Philadelphia Eagles cutting their 5th-string wide receiver. So, yeah – it’s dire straits for football content.
That hit was a doozy. And, man, oh man – watching this again has me ready for some new football content. But, this will definitely do for now. It’s doing things to my body that I don’t understand. Sorry if that was too graphic for some of you, but it’s the honest truth, and we’re an honest, transparent media company.
Guice is obviously a talented running back. He has big shoes to fill now that Leonard Fournette is suiting up for the Jacksonville Jaguars. But, his career has been promising so far. As an added bonus, he can field punts and kicks, too. Guice is a dynamic back that can make plays. But, who knew that he could lower his shoulders and deliver the boom?
But, are we sure this guy in the Louisville uniform is actually supposed to be there? It looks like a 12-year-old wearing one of those football uniform Halloween costumes. The kid’s feet completely leave the ground. This was like early stage WCW Goldberg spearing jobbers. Bodies just collapsing under him.
LSU is going to be an interesting team this season. “Wild Thing” Ed Orgeron is a complete enigma (which appears to be one of the requirements of being the head coach of the LSU Tigers), but the players responded to him last season. If he can parlay that into 2017, the Tigers could be a College Football Playoff dark horse.
This season looks like it could be a down year for the SEC as a whole. Outside of Alabama, it’s a total crap shoot. I. can’t. wait.
