Did Kevin Huber Just Become the Coolest Punter in NFL History?

I’ve watched this several dozen times by now, and I swear it’s like it gets smoother with each view. Punters and kickers have been known for a being a little off – little weird…but, this – THIS – type of move has to give cool points to the position as a whole. This is about as athletic as it gets. Plus, he’s calm, cool, and collected in the face of a mad dash to knock that ball out of his hands. Then, he has the wherewithal to sprint. The quickness of mind and foot here is just uncanny.

It’s too bad for Washington that Huber happens to be too cool for school. Legit – the only thing that would make this cooler would’ve been if Huber was wearing his letterman’s jacket while he completed the play. And, if he was smoking a cigarette.

Now, if only he had run it back for a touchdown, maybe we’d be lining up his bust in Canton or wherever the NFL Hall of Fame of Cool is. He would never have to pay for a single meal in Cincinnati ever again – all because of that one touchdown he scored in a preseason game.

Regardless of where this puts him all time, it’s still a move that would make Ric Flair proud. It was like watching Steve Nash handle the ball in his prime. And, if that’s the case, then that has to automatically put him in the conversation for the coolest punter of all time.
