I’ve never really been a car guy. Don’t know what it was, but my dad was a paint and body man and a sign painter, and I grew up going to car shows with him and my mom. He once told me a story about how he never had a desire to eat chicken because he watched his mama wring too many chicken necks. That’s morbid, and I apologize for bringing it up, but I do think it might illustrate why I never really gravitated towards cars.
I was around them all the time, so maybe I grew tired of them? I don’t know. But, my point is, I’ve never really known what a “cool” car was. I’d see something at a show, and hear my parents say, “wow,” and that would be an indicator. Well, this video came across the SoBros Instagram feed, and I just had to post about it, because I’ve never felt so out of touch in my life, even when I was a kid not understanding what the big fuss was about when it came to cars.

Man, I feel lost. That looks anything but cool to me. That’s like having one of those empty toilets in your yard that you use to plant flowers in. Or, it’s like the duct tape prom dress or something. I just don’t get it.
Would a slick paint job not suffice? I mean, do you have to have the added feature of a hydraulic truck bed that can also spin and rotate outwards?
What functionality does that serve? Also, why are you having a parade of these trucks? Is there a widespread interest in vehicles like this that I’m just not aware of nor do I understand? So many questions, but I keep finding myself just staring blankly at the screen and re-watching the video. It’s kind of mesmerizing…..like, it’s inspiring me to find something completely useless and odd-looking and form a parade about it. Man, kids these days. I feel old.
