The call to bring the truth to the world may never be stronger than it is right now, folks. You know your boy, the EIC at SoBros Network, is always scouring the Internet for content. Well, this video popped across the SoBros Instagram feed, and it’s raised some serious questions that I need your help answering:
I first saw this and immediately almost puked. I’m thinking, “oh God, that kid just turnt his daggum ankle out.” Like, that’s not how a resting foot is supposed to look!
But, the more I watched it, the more a couple of things stood out. First, several people mentioned in the comments that it was just the guy’s shoe turning over. That apparently happens all the time to people who partake in skateboarding. Since I am no such person, I’ll defer to these experts. Seems like a routing thing.
Second, I don’t care how tough you are. You break an ankle, you go down. It’s sort of involuntary, right? Like, the thing that supports you just gave out….it can’t support your weight! I like to think I’m so tough that I would just no-sell a broken ankle, but let’s be real here. It ain’t happening. I’ve broken an ankle before. It just doesn’t work – so there’s no way this guy just stood up like it was nothing and skated off.
Now that we’ve hashed this all out here, I’m starting to truly believe that this kid did indeed not break his ankle. Thank you all for helping me with this investigative journalism today.
Still, what if this was real? #YIKES
