For my money, there’s never been a better coach in NFL history than Bill Belichick. I mean, the dude’s resumé speaks for itself. The Super Bowls, the consistent winning – it’s all unprecedented. Today, his New England Patriots played in their SEVENTH consecutive AFC Championship.
They’re going to their third Super Bowl in four years – and that’s not even counting all the Super Bowls they went to before 2014. It’s baffling how good he is. So, naturally, it makes sense for him to become bored with it all.

It’s a participation trophy. Plain and simple. Look at how he treats that thing….something every other team in the AFC would be scrambling to hoist in the air. Not Belichick. He has so many of those that he probably doesn’t even want to carry it off that podium.
I’m pretty sure UCF cares more about the Civil Conflict Trophy than Belichick cares about the Lamar Hunt Trophy.
He doesn’t even try to hide it. He’s just like, “fuck is this shit? Get this outta here.” Thankfully, Robert Kraft will raise it. But, even the players….Tom Brady and Danny Amendola…..appeared to look at it and raise it up in an uncomfortable fashion. At least they were trying to be nice about it.
But, Belichick does not care. This win means nothing to him. I guarantee it. If they aren’t raising the Lombardi Trophy, then he just does not care. Because Super Bowl is the goal, and that’s the Patriot Way. It’s a part of this man’s genes and he’s conditioned it into his players.
Please excuse me while I calm my heart.
No one cares about winning as much as this man does. We could all learn something from Belichick’s failure to accept second place.
