Last year, come Wrestlemania season, we launched our first ever WWE Fantasy Wrestlemania Challenge. It was a wild success – shout out to the 2017 Champion: The Ultimate Worrier. Give our guy a follow – he’s a barrel of fun.
Anyway, after that went over as well as it did, I’ve decided to add a second WWE fantasy championship to our 2018 calendar: The SoBros Network Fantasy Royal Rumble Championship. That’s a bit wordy, but I think it’s worth it to be so descriptive. And, folks – if you are reading this, it means you are eligible. All you have to do is tweet to me or the SoBros Twitter account or comment on this article to enter.
That means you! Yes, YOU! YOU CAN PLAY WITH US!
As was the case with the 2017 Fantasy Wrestlemania Challenge, the winner will receive a TBD prize from my personal collection in addition to a championship medal. I’m also working on building a commemorative trophy that will remain at SoBros HQ, but will feature the names of all of our champions moving forward.
The Rules
Here’s how it’s going to work – We’re opening up spots for fifteen people. Each participant will get two numbers from a random drawing (will likely just be literally pulling names out of a hat, because technology).
Whoever enters the Royal Rumble at your spots will earn points based off the following scoring system:
+20 for winning the Royal Rumble
+10 for being the “Iron man/woman” (competitor in the Rumble for the longest amount of time)
+5 for each elimination
+3 for having the most eliminations in the match.
+2 if your number is a surprise entrant (surprise entrant defined as someone who is not advertised or confirmed for the match, prior to the match starting)
+1 for every minute a competitor is in the Rumble.
For Example: Let’s say I draw #3 and #21 for the men’s rumble. #3 is Drew Gulak, who is not confirmed for the match. He runs down and is immediately eliminated.
#21 is Shinsuke Nakamura, who is confirmed for the match. He competes for 10 minutes, eliminates five people (which is the most in the match), and wins the Royal Rumble. That would score as follows:
Drew Gulak – 2 pts (0 wins, 0 eliminations, 1 surprise entrant, 0 minutes)
Shinsuke Nakamura – 58 pts (1 win, 5 eliminations, 0 surprise entrant, 10 minutes, 3 “most eliminations” bonus)
That would mean I would have a score of 60 for the men’s rumble.
We will do this twice – once for the men’s Royal Rumble and once for the women’s. At the end of the night, the individual with the most points will be crowned the 2018 SoBros Network Fantasy Royal Rumble Champion.
