There’s Gonna Be a Whooooole Lot of Dog Masks in Philadelphia on Sunday

In case you missed it, Philadelphia Eagles tackle Lane Johnson absolutely stole the show after Saturday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons. He was caught strolling around the field wearing a dog mask. I’m going to be honest. The scene kind of startled your boy. Just taking it all in and then, BOOM – the bizarre image of a big ol’ boy with a dog’s head.

Just look at that shit! That’s frightening if you’re just expecting to see a normal human being!

It was a troll move – poking fun at all the people (Las Vegas included) who called the Eagles underdogs in that game.

Now, it could spark a major new trend and tradition in Philly. Fans are reportedly buying these things up and the folks at Lincoln Financial Field are going to allow them into Sunday’s NFC Championship.

The German Shepherd masks that Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson and defensive end Chris Long wore after Saturday’s divisional round win over the Atlanta Falcons quickly sold out on Amazon, and the purveyors over at CreepyParty are having a tough time keeping up with the demand.

They have sold around 500 masks since Saturday and have been inundated with emails from fans wanting to know how they can get their paws on one.

With their factory based in China, supply has been the issue. After their initial inventory of around 300 masks was wiped out, they bought an additional 300 from other distributors at a higher cost, leading to a jump in retail price from about $16 to $39.99.

The folks at CreepyParty have to be doing cartwheels right now. They stumbled into this deal by complete dumb luck. Because Johnson and Long were just sittin’ around bullshittin’ about ways to troll people calling them underdogs.

Don’t get me wrong, either. I love the move.

But, if that scene creeped you out the way it creeped me out, you just might want to mentally prepare yourself for Sunday. Cameras are gonna be all over this shit, and you can expect close to 1,000 people to partake.

Fly Eagles Fly, I guess.
