Tennessee Titans Select Rashaan Evans

Rashaan Evans is a Titan. I repeat…Rashaan Evans is a Titan. The Tennessee Titans did not pick until 22nd overall in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft after trading up with the Baltimore Ravens. They were in a great position this offseason, with primary needs at pass rusher and ILB. Other than that, it was “best player available” mode. When the time came, Jon Robinson ultimately decided to trade up to #22 address the inside linebacker position.

Big fan of Evans. He fills a huge need for the Titans, and the team could still pick up a pure edge rusher in the 2nd round. They essentially gave up their fourth rounder to get him. Baltimore gets the 25th overall pick and Tennessee’s 4th rounder. The Titans get the 22nd pick and Baltimore’s 6th round pick. Not too shabby for a team that doesn’t have a whole lot of needs.

Keep in mind, they needed pass rush help, but it didn’t necessarily have to come from the DE/OLB positions. Could’ve been a DT, could’ve been a linebacker….Evans could provide that spark, and the draft isn’t even over yet. He’s a rangy linebacker who is capable of playing sideline-to-sideline. He’s aggressive, quick, and hits hard. I imagine he’ll be used in a wide variety of ways.

Sorry if this post sounds choppy – I’m just high on life. Evans has been “my guy” for a while, and I’ve had a few too many Modelos to produce coherent thoughts.
