I’ve never been to a Memphis Chinese takeout spot, so I, unfortunately, can’t speak as an expert on the matter. Call me snooty, but you just can’t find real Chinese food down here in the South. I’ve been to New York. I know what the real shit is. But, if you’re lucky, you can find one good restaurant around town that won’t make you puke your guts out for the week after you eat it. For me, that place is Taki in Hermitage – excellent orange chicken, excellent pad Thai, and excellent sushi. I need no other Asian cuisine in my life.
But, if you’re not lucky, you end up a takeout spot where women are arguing and throw food on each other. That seems less than ideal, but much better for content.

Love the dude filming, trying to calm everybody down. This guy is the real MVP. He seems to know the people running the restaurant, and quickly tries to de-escalate the situation. I also love that he points out that there’s still shrimp on the floor. Like it’s all fun and games until you ruin dinner. That’s when people start running around, swinging handbags, and throwing shrimp.
But, quick lesson for the restauranteurs – you don’t swing on anyone from Memphis and expect them to flinch. That lady turned around and swung her purse without hesitation. Granted, we have to give the lady behind the counter some credit – she was ready to go. I knew the moment she threw her hand up that shit was going to go down. You just don’t do that people – the hand in the face is the universal sign of “shut the fuck up.” In other words, it’s disrespectful, folks.
Luckily no one was hurt, but it’s still a shame about that shrimp.
Also, if this happened in China, that woman would end up as tomorrow’s General Tso special. They don’t play. I’m also amazed that I’ve been able to write over 400 words having no idea what’s going on in this video. I guess that’s my blessing, and I guess it’s my curse.
