I’ll Say It – We Dropped the Ball on Royal Wedding Coverage

Busy times here at SoBros Network. Feels like we’ve had a different content event every week since the beginning of April. For those that don’t know, we actually have a pretty tight ship around. We sit down at the end of every year, and we set our goals for the coming year. On that list for 2018 was all of the events we’ve seen so far: the Chattanooga Film Festival, WrestleMania 34, the NFL Draft, the Watertown Mile Long Yard Sale, the Making Towns Classic, the Nashville Film Festival. Whew – I’m exhausted just running through that list. But, one major oversight we made was forgetting about the Royal Wedding (do we capitalize it? I think so, but not sure – I mean, it’s a specific event, right? That constitutes a proper noun, no?).

It didn’t really cross my mind until Herbie Brooks said it in the SoBros Slack group. “Huge missed opportunity in Royal Wedding coverage” – yeah, it was a huge social event on Twitter, and all of the heavy hitters got involved. But, what would we have done? Well, we could’ve written at least one article about it. Didn’t think of that. I could’ve called up Gorgeous Boyd and said, “bro we need you. This is what you were born for.” Didn’t do it. We could have had a studio show with us sitting at a desk calling all of the action. It would’ve been beautiful.

But, the magnitude of the event didn’t really set in until I made it up to New Jersey with the SoBros First Lady, and immediately upon seeing her family, it was all they could talk about. That’s when I realized, “shit – we really did drop the ball.”

Especially at a time when the Preds have been eliminated from Stanley Cup contention and there’s not much going on in the sports world that Nashville does care about right now – yeesh. That could’ve been the even to get us over the hump. I guess we’ll never know.

So, to all of our readers and listeners who we have let down by this YUGE oversight, I apologize. From the bottom of my broken heart.

But, at least we know Paul Heggen probably isn’t disappointed with our lack of coverage:
