Sometimes, You Just Gotta Stop in the Middle of an Intersection and Feed Your Dog a Sandwich

There are moments in time when we, as humans, are faced with incredibly difficult decisions. But, I like to think that most people have a strong moral compass. We know what’s right and what’s wrong, and today, we have a tale of one of those moments.

A man wanted on multiple warrants got unlucky when the DNR busted him trying to feed a sandwich to his dog, Lucky, in the middle of a Michigan intersection.

According to the report, a file check of the individual revealed he had multiple warrants for his arrest and a field sobriety test and PBT revealed he had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

Of course he had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system! What’s he going to do? Give that half of alcohol to the dog? Is he just going to let it go to waste? Or, let it sit there and warm up on the drive home? That just doesn’t make sense. Has anyone ever heard the saying, “gotta strike while the iron’s hot,” or nah?

Again, hate to beat a dead horse, but sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Also, unless he’s being ironic, he needs to think of a new name for Lucky, because that dog is definitely not lucky. Man, what a joke…I’ve been sitting on that one ever since I read this story.

When CO McAteer questioned the driver as to why he was sitting in the middle of the intersection, he stated he was making a sandwich for himself and his dog Lucky.

At this point, I feel the responsible thing for the officer to do would have been to cease the stop, apologize, and move on about his business.

Everyone knows that you have to take care of a hungry dog at all cost. If Lucky wants a sandwich, then you damn well better make sure that Lucky gets his sandwich.

Should the man have been at least a little more responsible? Probably. But, remember – he had to drink all of that alcohol so that Lucky wouldn’t accidentally get some. It’s going to impair your judgment a little bit.

I know he had multiple warrants out and such, but I’m sure it all comes back to taking care of Lucky because this man is obviously a responsible dog owner.
