Last night, I got the chance to catch up with “Nature Boy” Brandon Vick for a brand new episode of Brandon’s Box Office In Your Mouth. The Summer blockbuster season is in full swing, and with the release of Solo, you know we had to do it to ’em. If you aren’t already, be sure to subscribe to the SoBros Network on iTunes or follow us on SoundCloud. Lots of ways to catch up on our podcast network.
We get Brandon and RHog’s quick thoughts on Solo and explore whether or not the Star Wars franchise is starting to grow a little stale. Also, what did other critics think of the movie?
That guides us into an interesting debate regarding why Star Wars fatigue seems to be creeping in, but given the relative volume of movies, Marvel seems to leave us wanting more. Is it the writing? The characters? Is it the timeline of releases? Or, is there not actually Star Wars fatigue at all?!
While we’re talking about Marvel, we get into Jake Gyllenhaal being linked to the MCU. Reports have surfaced that he’s in serious talks to play Spider-Man villain Mysterio in the next installment of that franchise.
Jaime Foxx has apparently been cast as Spawn in the reboot of that film….though…honestly…none of us really seem to care about it given what a shit show the original Spawn was.
Brandon joins us fresh after a screening of Upgrade, so he offers up his review of that as well.
All this and we still get to Yesteryear’s Finest, a segment where each of us offer up a movie from the past for our listeners/readers to watch before the next episode.
